If you have a car or drive one for that matter, you'd probably seen one, complained to one or even gave a tip to one. They work in shifts and one might say it's an old boring job manning the pump but its a gig that is vital for the transport system in any country. Well to be honest it looks and sounds like its a boring gig. I mean look you wait around a vehicle comes and you serve them right? I find and look at all forms of jobs as adventures regardless of how clean or dirty or how high or low it seats in the employment scale. The fuel service station pump attendant is a job where I would want to try do for a a day if given the chance. I see it as an exciting service delivery mechanism where you meet different people everyday and your regulars as well. It's been two years (2016 - 2018) since I lost my dad. I miss him a lot and just want to hear his assertive and assuring voice again. March 26 will always be close to my heart and remembered because dad passed away a day before my birthday on the 27 March. May his soul rest in eternal peace. Now my dad wanted us to celebrate his life more then anything. He was a very influential man in the church, community, village and work place. Southern Highlands is a mystical place full of beauty and rich in resources. Southern Highlands to me as it was in the past includes the recently established Hela Province.  This is my story on how people from Southern Highlands and Hela (Both South's to me) have a special place in my heart and my life.  My connections or that of my family dates back to 1960s when my grandfather (my mum's father) and his family lived in Mendi government station. The stories from my mum who was pretty young about 4-5 years old are sketchy at best but they were wonderful stories. She spoke of waking up in the morning and having to wash in crystal clear waters from a near by river in very cold temperatures.
